This bale dindina chutney is prepared using raw banana stem, coconut, red chillies, coriander seeds, salt, tamarind and a simple tempering. This chutney is very healthy and tastes good with rice or any other breakfast items.

Banana stem is good for weight loss, to manage diabetes, detoxification, reduce constipation, kidney health, blood pressure, anaemia and to reduce the bad cholesterol. Banana stem chutney Recipe

Preparation time: 10 min
Cooking time: 5 min
Serves: 4

Ingredients: (measuring cup used = 240ml)

  1. 7 - 8 cm length banana stem
  2. 2 - 3 red chilis
  3. 1/2 tsp coriander seeds
  4. 1/2 cup grated coconut
  5. Small Gooseberry sized tamarind
  6. Salt as per your taste

Ingredients required for tempering:

  1. 1/2 red chili
  2. 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  3. 4-5 curry leaves
  4. 1 tsp cooking oil

Instructions for making Banana stem Chutney:

  1. Remove all the outer layers of Banana stem.grating radish for bale dindu or banana stem chutney recipe
  2. Rinse and chop the banana stem. No need to remove the fiber.chopped banana stem for bale dindu or banana stem chutney recipe
