Sugarcane juice recipe explained with step by step pictures and a video. Light colored jaggery, ginger, mint leaves, salt and lemon juice are used to prepare the kabbu juice (kabbina haalu) that tastes like sugarcane juice. This is a very refreshing summer drink using jaggery or bella.

This is a very useful recipe when we don't get sugarcane. I have used oudina or mint leaves in this recipe, which you can replace it with coriander leaves.

Sugarcane juice using jaggery

Preparation time: 3 - 4 hours
Cooking time: 10 min
Serves: 4

Ingredients (Type 1): (measuring cup used = 240ml)

  1. 1 cup light colored jaggery
  2. 1 tsp ginger
  3. 2 tbsp pudina or mint leaves (adjust as per taste)
  4. 1/4 tsp salt
  5. 1 small lemon
  6. 1 cup of ice cubes
  7. 4 - 5 cups of water

Instructions for making sugarcane juice using jaggery:

  1. Soak crushed jaggery in 1 cup of water.jaggery for sugarcane juice recipe using jaggery
  2. After soaking transfer it into a mixie jar. Add chopped ginger.ginger for sugarcane juice recipe using jaggery
